BIS Certification Schemes

1. ISI Mark Certification

2. Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS)

• Objective: Ensure electronic/IT products meet safety norms.
• Applicability: Mobile phones, laptops, LED lights, etc.
• Procedure:
  1. Testing in BIS-recognized labs
  2. Submit test report & application
  3. Grant of registration

3. Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS)

• Purpose: Allows foreign manufacturers to certify for Indian market.

  1. Nominate Authorized Indian Representative (AIR)
  2. Submit application

  4. Product testing
  5. License issuance
